Well look what the cat dragged in…. [looking at myself right now :/ ]
It’s been what, 3 months since I blogged? Phew how time flies. A lot has changed in the past 3 months, so much so that if I explained it all we would be here until next week. So I figured I’d do a lil lightning round catch up session along with a little explanation of what’s to come for Primal Bites.
So first, I graduated!
And as of right now have absolutely no plans to go back to school. I know, I know, you’re gonna say, “but Sarah, wait a few years and you’ll feel differently..” NO! I mean, you’re right I might feel differently down the road but right now I’m happy as hell to be done with college.
Then my entrepreneurship fellowship program, Venture for America, kicked off.
I spent an absolutely incredible 5 weeks in Providence, RI at VFA Training Camp getting whipped into shape for startup life. We learned about consulting, finance, design, marketing, and more, from leaders in each of those fields. However, the best part was having the opportunity to learn from, be inspired by, and bond with 169 other freaking brilliant 2016 Fellows. It was like adult summer camp– I never wanted to leave. Lots of tears were shed (mostly by me) on our last night in Providence.
Then I went on a road trip in the Highlands of Scotland with my mom!
I jetted off directly from Providence to Scotland, where we ate LOTS of fresh seafood, drove through some of the most scenic parts of the Highlands, saw puffins on Staffa, learned about the history of the clans, and in my case, took a dip in the Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye.
Then I headed home to Atlanta, packed everything up in a rental car, and 4 days later moved my butt up to Columbus, OH.
Here in Columbus I’m working as the Creative Community Developer at a 6 person startup called SEEN Digital Media. Wtf does that mean, you ask? First of all, SEEN connects brands with influencers on social media to create beautiful, authentic, branded content. Second of all, my job is to foster and support the creative community, both online and offline. Right now that means creating lots of content for our new and improved Snapfluence site (<<click it, I dare you), which is a source of inspiration, resources, and opportunities for the creative community. So I’m creating content for a site about content creation… meta, or what? I’m 1 month in and loving it.
So what does the future hold for Primal Bites?
Since I’m creating content pretty much full-time now, I honestly have very little creative energy to dedicate to Primal Bites (which is why I haven’t been back on here sooner). However, I don’t want to close the doors definitively! So I will be back on here periodically to share recipe roundups, musings on health and wellness, and spotlights on some of my new favorite brands. I may even occasionally share a new recipe, but I will no longer be developing recipes purely for the purpose of sharing them here. Good news is I have hundreds of recipes on here already that you are free to browse at your leisure :))))
If you want to keep up with me in other places, I will be occasionally blogging about work//life//fellowship related things on my personal website. I am also now running FOUR Instagram accounts 😮 So in addition to following me on @primalbites where I’m still posting my eats, feel free to follow @sarah.lifts for strength training things, @teamsnapfluence for creative community things, and @vfacolumbus for behind the scenes in the life of Columbus VFA Fellows.
Also follow me on Snapchat (username: sfak) for hilarious cat-snaps.
Over and out✌️
