“No grains. No soy. No dairy. No BS.
RxBar: As Prescribed By Nature”
With such a catchy slogan and bold claims, I had high expectations for RxBars. And yet somehow, they exceeded my expectations by a mile.
Containing no more than 7 ingredients, all of which are Paleo, RxBars are a homerun in the recently growing market for Paleo protein bars and on the go snacks. Each of the four flavors is made up from the same basic ingredients: dates, egg white protein, almonds and figs, and from there the ingredients deviate slightly to yield 4 distinct and delicious flavors: Apple Cinnamon, Blueberry, Coconut Cacao and Coffee Cacao.
All the ingredients are natural and provide functional nutrition. On their website they explain all the benefits of each of their carefully chosen ingredients, which is worth a look if you’re curious. RxBars are high in protein, fiber, and healthy fats, what more can you ask for? Quality is never sacrificed for cost in the making of RxBars, which is what sets them apart from all those mass manufactured protein bars filled with tons of cheap, nutrient poor, artificial ingredients.
But not only are RxBars superior in quality, they are superior in taste too! I cannot emphasize enough how delicious these bars are. The texture is chewy and moist, not chalky like protein bars laden with isolated proteins. The taste is sweet but not too sweet, and the flavors in every bar are perfectly balanced. If I had to pick a favorite, it would either be Coconut Cacao or Blueberry, but it’s a close race between all of them.
These bars are great pre workout to get a good boost of energy, or post work out for muscle recovery. And the icing on the cake is that the packaging is re-sealable! So if you don’t want to eat the entire bar at once, you can just reseal the wrapper with the Ziploc closure. This added bonus really took these bars to the next level for me.
Disclaimer: This post was not sponsored by RxBar but I did receive a free sample of their bars to review for HASHTAGpaleo and Primal Bites. All the statements above are my own, unbiased opinion.
