Man, oh, man. Paleo Treats have entered my life, and I couldn’t be more smitten.
Founded in 2009, Paleo Treats are at the forefront of the growing market for Paleo foods. All of their products are baked from scratch with real ingredients, and all these ingredients are Paleo approved, so that means no dairy, no refined sugars, no gluten, no grains! Since they’re preservative free (as food is meant to be), it’s best to store them in the freezer, not only to keep them fresh longer, but also because they taste awesome straight out of the freezer!

I was stoked to receive a package with a bunch of Paleo Treats to review. I had stalked the Paleo Treats website thoroughly, so I knew more or less what to expect. What I did not expect was JUST HOW FREAKIN AWESOME they would be! I think a lot of people have this idea that if you go Paleo, you’ll never taste anything sinfully delicious and sweet again. To anyone who feels this way: Paleo Treats is your answer. As the folks behind Paleo Treats say themselves, “while we’re focused on selling “healthy” cookies if they don’t taste the same or better than their standard equivalent, we won’t make it.”
Paleo Treats puts all traditional processed treats to shame. Because who doesn’t love eating delectable sweets without feeling bad, physically and mentally, afterwards? If I could make up a slogan for them, it would go a little something like this:
Paleo Treats: All the Taste, Zero the Guilt
When I bake my own Paleo desserts, I’m always a little hesitant to share them with friends and family for fear that they won’t enjoy them. But Paleo Treats are a different story. I would not hesitate one second to share any of the 4 different Paleo Treats with my friends. I would’ve shared my samples but I’m too selfish… sorry guys! And get this: the folks behind Paleo Treats are so confident in their own products that they have a 100% money back satisfaction guarantee. Are you sold yet?
Now onto the individual reviews:
Shaped like a chocolate cup, Cacao Now is essentially dark chocolate bark with goji berries, raisins, pistachios, and almonds. Simple, but tasty, it’s like a superfood chocolate bar. I loved the unconventional addition of goji berries.
The Cacao Now cups really are yummy, but the next three are in a three-way-tie for my favorite. I really could not pick a favorite, they’re all so dadgum delicious!
I’m a sucker for coconut, so I’ve eaten a lot of coconutty sweets, and the Mac Attacks have to be at the top of my favorites list. They aren’t like your traditional macaroon, but they’re just as delicious, just in a different way. The cacao nibs sprinkled throughout add the perfect chocolatey touch.
Appropriately named, Brownie Bombs are the bomb. Made from a whopping 6 ingredients (yes, I was being sarcastic), these are incredibly fudgey and decadent without being overly sweet. But be warned, one brownie is actually two servings. I couldn’t stop myself though. Once that package was opened, it was game over.
Buttery and rich, Mustang bars are just extraordinary. I’ve never tasted anything like it. On the Paleo Treats website they call Mustang Bars “the closest thing to ecstasy we can bake”. The bars are filled with almonds, raisins, walnuts, pumpkin seeds and coconut, all bound together by a creamy mix of almond butter, coconut oil and honey.
Now based on those flavor descriptions, pick what you think you might like, and go go go to www.paleotreats.com to order your own, so you can experience the sheer joy that Paleo Treats has brought into this world.
Disclaimer: This post was not sponsored by PaleoTreats but I did receive a free sample of their products to review for HASHTAGpaleo and Primal Bites. All the statements above are my own, unbiased opinion.
