I’m up and at ’em early today because I’m hittin’ the road to Nashville! I got up and went to the 6:30 am WOD (kill me), and it sure woke me up. Now I’m getting the last of my things together so I can get an early(ish) start. I’m going to hang out with my friend Faye Webster, an amazing singer-songwriter, who is recording her full length album there (check out her EP here or watch some of her dank Youtube videos here, here or here, the last one is my favorite).
Today I’m driving a total of about 7 hours, because I’ve gotta go pick Faye up from Nashville, then we’re driving over to Louisville to see Old Crow Medicine Show and Dawes at The Forecastle, a music festival in KY. And I don’t wanna give away any surprises but… I may just be spending my Friday night hanging out backstage with OCMS and my Saturday with Dawes! Faye may be young but she’s good at making friends with older people (especially older famous people, she just has a certain charm and insane talent that gets people’s attention).
So anyways, since I’ll be driving for awhile, I knew I needed to stock up on road trip snacks! Unlike Bonnaroo, I won’t be stranded with no access to grocery stores and restaurants, so I didn’t pack quite as much, but this stuff will be good for the road and it’ll also serve as emergency food if I’m in a bind and can’t find anything good to eat (which I doubt will happen, Nashville probably has a great restaurant scene).
so here’s what I’ve got, clockwise from top left: Hardboiled eggs, some Apple Gate sausages, coconut milk for iced coffee or miscellaneous use, EPIC bars (YAY!), buffalo jerky, sea salt roasted almonds, some Quest bars (YAY again!), an avocado, Flax Snax Super Cookies, tuna and salmon, some nori chips, and green apples.
Alright that’s all I’ve got time for now but I plan to blog at least once while I’m there to update y’all on our adventures! Have a super dooper weekend!
